My connection is that Jean Taylor THOMSON's grandfather, Gilbert TAYLOR, is my g.g.g. grandfather. In case it is of interest to you, her parents were:
1 John THOMSON, Road surfaceman and Stonebreaker (b Rothesay, Bute, 26 Apr 1796; d Kilwinning 12 Jan 1879)
and
2 Jean TAYLOR (bapt. Skipness, Argyll, 16 Jul 1800; d probably Kilwinning and probably before 1855)
and her four grandparents (dates unknown) were:
1 Gilbert TAYLOR, Farm labourer, later Pitheadman
and
2 Elizabeth (Elespy) THOMSON (no relationship with the other THOMSONs yet discovered)
3 John THOMSON, Stonemason
and
4 Margaret BARR
