I received notification from one Mark Pettigrew(CEng.Mech) b.1967 - via e-mail - for the descendants of John Pettigrew.
"The family line goes from the tailor John Pettigrew/Elizabeth Gregg m 1814: William (tailor) b:Tarb 1815: John (tailor) b:Tarb 1839: James Drinnan (explosives worker) b:1873 Tarb: Alexander (shipyard riveter) b: Corrie, Isle of Arran1904: Alexander (draughtsman/supervisor) b:Kilwinning 1939: Mark (CEng mechanical) b:Kilwinning 1967."
John b. EST 1790 was possibly born in New Monkland(Airdrie) as yet to be confirmed. It is thought that John died in 1844 - i.e an interrment at Tarbolton in that year for a John Petticrew. Also John did not appear on the 1851 census having appeared on the 1841 census.
