George Gregg[P219] was born in Barr by Girvan Ayrshire Scotland. He was the eldest of eight children born to John Gregg[P214](b.1819 Barr Ayrshire) and Elizabeth McWhirter(b.1821 Barr Ayrshire). Georges grandparents were George Gregg[P250] and Agnes Sloan who were married in Barr - 2 November 1761. Agnes Sloan died in 1770 after producing 4 children, and her husband George Gregg[P250] married Agnes Couper in 1772. Agnes Couper produced a further six Gregg children. William Gregg[P242] the eldest of these married Marion McMurray in Barr 27 February 1802 at North Balloch Ayrshire. They had ten children, the youngest of whom was James Gregg[P729]. James

While reading the final summary I spotted that in the list of children to child no 2 , their eldest, James Gregg McFadzien, is believed to be the same James McFadzien of Eccles St. Gore, Farmer. This is not the case as James from Gore was my Grandfather through his daughter Dorothy Crump ( nee McFadzien ). He did not have a middle name. James Gregg McFadzien and James McFadzien were cousins. I trust this is helpful. Regards, Peter Crump, Invercargill , NZ Many thanks Peter - Alec Gregg ADDITIONAL INFO from Peter Crump: 2.
