Hello Alec. Recently I have been trying to complete my family tree and came across your very interesting family history project. I am not directly connected to the Gregg family but my great great great grandfather Samuel Murdoch (born 1802 Dalrymple) married Mary Gregg (P165 on your tree) on 2 December 1836 in Straiton. She was his second wife and she died at Prestwick in 1902 and was buried in the graveyard of the Auld Kirk, Ayr. When I visited Ayr last year I took a photo of her headstone in the Auld Kirk. As follows.
'Erected in memory of Samuel Murdoch Burgh Officer who died 18th April 1849 aged 47 years
Also his Daughter Agnes Murdoch, died at Newton-Stewart 1st march 1861 aged 21 years
Also his Son Alexander Murdoch who died at Stranraer nov 5th 1880 aged 43 years
Mary Gregg widow of Samuel Murdoch died at Prestwick 16th June 1902'
