This is Matthew Greig to whom we are so grateful for his major contributions to this project. Matt Greig and Alec Gregg (paternal cousins) met up again in 1995 after some 40 years. Contact was initiated through Matt in 1994 when he learned of Alec's interest and work in constructing a family history. The information Matt had collated for over a 5 year period proved to be a great asset. His encouragement and knowledge has proved invaluable. Alec visited Matthew on several occasions in Scotland and toured the entire area of Ayrshire, where from various sources, they obtained numberous records of the Gregg family, covering a period of over 350 years and dating back to the early 1600's. Matthew's wife Mary was also a great source of encouragement. She patiently accompanied them on many visits and offered much of her own knowledge of both family history and places of information. Mary passed away in 1998 and Matthew passed away in 2010.
